GMC teases us with this covered prototype of the upcoming 2024 GMC Canyon AT4X AEV Edition. We have already seen the nee Canyon AT4X and AT4X Edition-1 off-road pickup trucks. These go on sale later this year as 2023 models with prices ranging between $57,000 – $65,000. Now, we get a glimpse at the upcoming AT4X AEV Edition truck. Here is everything we know.
This prototype is being pulled on a trailer because it’s being towed by the all-new 2024 GMC Sierra HD AT4X AEV Edition. The HD AT4X diesel truck is capable of towing up to 18,500 lbs.
2024 GMC Canyon AT4X AEV Edition
Although GMC has not confirmed this yet, we believe this AEV Edition will be a 2024 model. It may be fully revealed in June or July of 2023. This is our guess. It may go on sale by the end of this year. This is also just an educated guess.
This prototype is completely covered, but we can see the wheels, the tires, and underneath the truck. This Canyon AT4X AEV prototype is riding on Goodyear Wrangler Territory MT tires that are 315/70R17 in size. This is the widest all-terrain tire that GM has ever put on a pickup truck. The new 2024 GMC Sierra HD AT4X is riding on 305/70R18 tires. We can also see a lifted suspension, long-travel DSSV spool-valve dampers by Multimatic, and many AEV skid plates.
However, this prototype does not show any hydraulic bump stops – that we saw on the 2024 Chevy Colorado ZR2 Bison prototype just a couple of weeks ago.

The steel AEV front bumper is also just visible from under the tight-fitting cover. Check out the video below for all the details.
