Check it out! The all-new 2024 Chevy Colorado ZR2 Bison will be officially unveiled on May 31, 2023, according to @Chevrolet Instagram account. This is an off-road racing-inspired production midsize truck that is wearing one of the biggest off-road tires that GM ever put on a production vehicle from the factory!

Now we get several more images of the 2024 Bison prototype that show its unique front bumper with a place for a winch and red tow hooks.

I got a chance to get up close and personal with the new ZR2 Bison prototype at a recent Chevrolet event in Sparks, Nevada. This truck is sitting high on AEV-style wheels with 315/70R17 all-terrain tires. This converts to a 34.4-inch diameter and 12.4-inch width. Being generous – you could refer to these as “35s”.

If you compare this to the GMC Hummer EV truck’s tires. Those are 305/70R18 tires – which convert to 34.8-inch diameter and 12.0-inch width.

The Colorado ZR2 Bison prototype I saw had hydraulic bump stops front and rear. It had long-travel DSSV spool valve Multimatic shocks. This is race-proven technology that Chevrolet has been testing with Chad Hall Racing over the last several years in the “Best in the Desert” racing series.
