Yes, we get a little more love from Honda as they tease us with more photos of the 2023 Honda Pilot TrailSport. Oh, and they added a few somewhat undisguised ones too!
Honda has promised that the 2023 Honda Pilot TrailSport will be the most off-road capable crossover in their fleet. That’s a bold statement given the decent capabilities of the Honda Passport TrailSport. Both vehicles share a lot of components, but Honda is upping the heat on this three-row crossover, and it shows.

In these carefully staged photos, we can see various Pilots hanging out on rugged-looking terrain. Two of these shots, a partial front and rear peek, even show off a sweet-looking blue color. It’s a pretty good bet that Honda may finally add some color to their truck lineup, the same way they use it on some Civics.
Here’s what Honda had to say in their Wednesday announcement:
“Tested on challenging terrain all over the country, the all-new 2023 Honda Pilot TrailSport will be the most rugged Honda SUV ever, with standard all-terrain tires, steel skid plates, off-road tuned suspension, and expanded all-wheel drive system capabilities. The next-generation Pilot and Pilot TrailSport will be revealed this fall. #HondaPilot”

Yep, that’s all they had to say.

Fortunately, we won’t have to wait too much longer to see what Honda cooked up. I was very pleased with the performance of the Honda Passport TrailSport I sampled a while back. It did very well in rugged terrain that no regular crossover has any business traversing. With that being said, I was concerned about the lack of armor, proper off-road tires, and beefier suspension. After reading that quote, I think Honda agrees and (perhaps) they will make the Pilot Trailsport even beefier.
One can only hope.
