Which is better off-road in the snow? Is it a new 2022 Land Rover Defender or a new 2022 Toyota Tundra TRD Off-road? Roman and I take them to our new ‘Tumbleweed Ranch’ to find out.
As many of you know, tires are ultimately important to an off-road comparison, especially one in the snow. The Defender is wearing Goodyear Wrangler Adventure AT tires. The Tundra TRD Off-road package is equipped with Falken Wildpeak A/T3W. The tread and the M+S (Mud and Snow) rating of these tires are similar – so this should be a fair comparison.
In this video, we take both machines through two obstacles: Sniper Hill (a steep snowy hill climb) and Nathan’s Crack (a ravine that tests approach/departure angles, ground clearance, and more).
In the end, there is also a surprise truck that does all these obstacles. It’s our 1965 Ford F-100. Join the video below for all the snowy off-road fun.
