You may have seen the Ford Bronco Raptor, but how about a pack of them?

We’re still a few months away from Ford’s official reveal, but this makes it all too clear the automaker’s ramping up for the next chapter in the Bronco saga. The new 2023 Ford Bronco Raptor should arrive later next year, and our friends Angel (photo above) and Ben (photo below) both caught this group testing in central Arizona. From a couple different angles, we can get another look at the beefier Bronco’s wide stance, huge BFGoodrich KO2 tires (35’s should be standard, while 37s will be an option, like the F-150) and the signature fender flares.

There’s not too much official information just yet, though we can make some decent educated guesses based on both the F-150 Raptor and the standard Bronco. The amber marker lights in the grille mark the 2023 Ford Bronco Raptor as a wide vehicle — wider than 80 inches, necessitating those lights thanks to DOT regulations. It should also pack quite a bit more power than the current model’s 330 horsepower, by way of a 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6.

Again, I’m taking an educated guess here, but my money’s long been on the Raptor getting a 3.0-liter EcoBoost twin-turbo V6 from the Explorer ST. That would bump the power to around 400 horsepower if not more, giving it a healthy boost over the base versions. Will it get a V8 to compete with the 470 horsepower Jeep Wrangler 392, though? That’s less certain — at least in a production model — though Ford could have something like a Bronco Raptor R up its sleeve (similar to their TRX-fighting F-150 Raptor R). Anything’s possible, though it’s virtually certain this Raptor has a healthy power hike, especially to accommodate some 37s.

What about suspension?

It’s likely, if not certain, that the 2023 Ford Bronco Raptor will use a similar Fox Live Valve suspension to the F-150 Raptor. That setup makes the most sense, not to mention the Blue Oval’s Raptorized SUV seems to be following in its big brother’s footsteps in most other areas.

Fortunately, we don’t have too much longer to wait. The 2023 Ford Bronco Raptor could well arrive as soon as next summer, which means the inevitable reveal is just a few months away, possibly in the spring.
