Here we see two 2022 Jeep Wagoneer / Grand Wagoneer prototype SUVs on a relatively difficult Fins-n-Things trail near Moab, Utah. This convoy was spied by Ryan Hehr, who sent us these images and a short video clip. Thank you Ryan! Ryan says he indeed saw them on the Fins-n-Things trail.
There are not many manufacturers that will test their full-size three-row SUV on a trail like this. Although Stellantis is positioning the Wagoneer and the Grand Wagoneer as their own luxury SUV brand – they are still part of the Jeep family of vehicles. As such, off-road ability is a big part of it. The new Wagoneer SUVs are built on a modified Ram 1500 chassis. They are not using a solid rear axle, they have an independent suspension all the way around.
These two prototype vehicles were seen in a convoy with a modified Jeep Wrangler and a Ram Power Wagon. We are looking forward to the chance to drive the new Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer. You can be sure that we will put them to serious off-road and towing tests.
Speaking of testing in Moab, Utah. Thanks to you – we recently spied a 2022 GMC Hummer EV truck driving around Moab as well.
Here is a first personal look at the all-new Grand Wagoneer.
