Based on the image of GM’s upcoming EV off-roader, Chip Ganassi Racing has unveiled their livery on the GMC Hummer Extreme E Racer.
With the underpinnings of the Spark Odyssey 21 race SUV, Chip Ganassi Racing livery (which is based on the GMC Hummer EV), now graces the GMC Hummer Extreme E racer. It looks pretty cool too. Just a few weeks back, the St. Helena set sail to start the all-EV, worldwide rally. That ship carries the racers, equipment, crew and power units to each race location.
You can read about the departure (here).
The Extreme E racing series uses the same platform racers with several racing teams driving in distinctly different climates and locations – around the world. Each Spark Odyssey 21 is a four-wheel drive, with a 400kw (550hp) drivetrain. It can go from 0-62mph in 4.5 seconds, and head up gradients of up to 130 percent. The suspension is the equivalent to many Dakar and Rally Raid competitors currently racing.
Extreme E’s racing is headed out to sea right now.
“Extreme E’s first race will take place on the 3rd and 4th of April in Saudi Arabia. After Saudi Arabia, she will go back through the Mediterranean to Senegal, across to Greenland, down to the Amazon, and then further south to the final destination of the season in Tierra del Fuego, Argentine Patagonia.”TFLoffroad.com
Chip Ganassi Racing team partnered with Sycamore Entertainment Group, Inc. (SEGI) to promote its new Segi.tv.
Chip Ganassi Racing’s Spark Odyssey 21 will feature a vinyl decals that will mimic the styling of the GMC Hummer EV’s grille and headlights. The racer will have GMC-branded wheels along with GMC brands on all panels and other accessories.
Kyle LeDuc and Sara Price will drive the Chip Ganassi Racing’s GMC Hummer. Both drivers are experienced, with several wins between them. They will be one of the teams to beat during this inaugural racing season.
