The Toyota Tacoma is the current midsize king of overland camp anywhere trucks. This new 2021 Ford Ranger Tremor SEMA build is looking to spoil Tacoma’s parade. The Tremor is the newest and the most off-road worthy model of the Ford Ranger that is coming to market in early 2021 to the United States (it is not a Ranger Raptor). The factory Ranger Tremor parts list already reads as a customized SEMA build. The production Ranger Tremor offers a suspension leveling kit with additional ground clearance, FOX 2.0 shocks, specially tuned springs, unique wheels with slightly different offset to make the truck wider. The factory truck will be riding on 32-inch General Grabber all-terrain tires.
This Ranger Tremor model will be available based on a Ranger XLT or Lariat trims. The off-road package includes the standard 2.3-liter turbocharged I4 engine with 270 hp and 310 lb-ft of torque, a 10-speed automatic transmission, and a locking rear differential. The SEMA truck spices up the performance with a BORLA exhaust system with dual outlet tips on the passenger side.
This SEMA truck builds on this platform with Ford Performance by RIGID LED lights and light mounting kits. The Ranger Tremor is equipped with auxiliary switches, so hooking up additional lights should be fairly easy. ARB supplies that ever-important snorkel and the fridge/freezer with a tie-down and wiring kits. The bed is equipped with a BEDSLIDE and a Yakima bed rack.
The rack shows many other accessories, such as a kayak mount, bike mount, an awning, and more. We have not driven or tested a Ranger Tremor yet, but all of its upgrades and new accessories should make competitors (such as the Tacoma) take notice. Here is a deeper dive video about the upcoming Ranger Tremor.
