First Dirt Video! Can Our $2500 Chevy Project Truck Beat a Modified Ram Cummins Off-Road?

This Yak Gauntlet off-road race is closer than we ever imagined!

dodge ram cummins diesel chevy silverado big block off-road race competition review

This is perhaps the most fun and closest ‘Yak Gauntlet’ off-road race that we have ever done. Competitors include our newest Chevy project truck with a big block gas V8 that David recently purchased, and Kase’s personal lifted Dodge Ram with a Cummins turbo-diesel under the hood. Lots of recent snow make this off-road competition more challenging than ever. These heavy trucks will slide, drift, and slip, but hopefully not tip over!

The 1992 Chevy is a 3500-series heavy-duty truck with a 454 cu-in V8 that is mated to a manual transmission. The 1994 Dodge Ram 2500 is packing a 5.9-liter turbo-diesel with a manual transmission as well. Tommy and (TFL dog – Blaze) are there to help. Tommy scouts the snow-covered Yak Gauntlet off-road course in another project of ours – a 2014 Toyota FJ Cruiser. If a newer purpose-built 4×4 can handle this course, then a couple of older trucks are sure to have some fun.

Check out the video below for all the snowy 4×4 truck fun! This is indeed the closest and hardest thought competition yet.
